Livedrive does not have a file size limit when uploading files using your desktop software or via FTP, SFTP or WebDAV.

There is however, a 2GB size limit when uploading to your Briefcase via your Livedrive Web Portal.

If you find that your files are not uploading via the desktop client, you may wish to run an integrity check to ensure the status of your Livedrive is correct.

Two-factor authentication is an extra layer of security for Livedrive designed to ensure that you're the only person who can access your account, even if someone knows your password. This increases the security of your account and all your stored files.

If you set up two-factor authentication, you'll be asked to enter a special code to confirm your identity each time you try to access your account from a new browser or device.

Even if you use two-factor authentication, we always recommend using a strong, unique password and there are many 3rd party password manager applications which can help with this.

Note: This is disabled by default. To enable it, visit your web portal, click the account menu at the top right and then privacy and security.

When a Livedrive user privately shares a file with an external user, Livedrive creates a free account called a Sharing account. The recipient is automatically e-mailed their username and password for this account and can log in securely to see the shared files.

Sharing accounts are completely free and are not time limited - the user can log in and see the files shared with them for as long as the files are shared to them.

Sharing accounts have very limited functionality - sharing users cannot upload new files to Livedrive, install the Livedrive desktop software or edit files online.

While it is possible to use the Briefcase drive in conjunction with image processing software in general, we have confirmed with Adobe that they do not recommend using any virtual or network drive to store the Adobe Lightroom catalog files. Due to the fact that the Briefcase drive is identified by the operating system as a virtual/network drive, you may store photos on the Briefcase drive, but do not store the catalog on there.
